Felt Roofing
Felt Roofing is a durable, waterproof solution typically involving a built-up system with multiple layers of bitumen soaked felt to ensure a durable, watertight seal.
The installation involves 3 layers:
Layer 1 (Underlay): install a perforated underlay or air- and- vapour control layer. This can be partially bonded to allow for moisture movement.
Layer 2 (Reinforced Underlay): A high- performance polyester- reinforced felt is typically torch-applied or bonded with hot bitumen.
Layer 3 (Cap Sheet): A mineral-finished cap sheet is applied to protect against UV and weather conditions.
